The first Superior Watercross Shootout is in the books, and spectators and race drivers are equally excited about the first-time Twin Ports event. Beautiful weather and lots of high-speed action brought crowds to the shore of Barker's Island as over 100 competitors hit the water in drag and oval racing in both stock and modified classes.

Event coordinator Kimberly Carr says members of the International Watercross Association were very happy with the new venue on their season circuit. The new location provided new challenges and opportunities for drivers, and offered a chance for a new audience to see the exciting high-speed sport in person. Following the success of the inaugural event, plans are in the works for next year's Superior Watercross Shootout.
