Overscheduled and running late, Izzy’s parents can’t pick her up on-time the last day of school before Christmas break. A blizzard complicates the matter, but not as much as a pair of bad guys who are freezing in an ice cream truck. When the school's janitor is kidnapped by the intruders, it is up to Izzy to save the day.

According to a press release, after counseling with the, Minnesota Film and TV Commission, Snowbate, the Utah-based movie company Koan, Inc. chose  Marshall school in Duluth. Executive producer Gil Aglaure wanted a school blanketed in snow. Naturally Duluth was the perfect fit.

Marshall School students, teachers, and parents will be serving as extras in the film. The movie will be shot at the school through several weeks in April, with an anticipated release date for early December 2018.
