I must admit I have only been to Burrito Union a few times since they opened years ago, and were the first of it's kind to serve giant burritos in Duluth. Although they are more then that with a cool bar vibe and Fitgers brews on tap too.  But, I was not here for the atmosphere, awesome people watching or a beer, I wanted the famous Thanksgiving Burrito.

Now first off let me say that I am kind of a weirdo when it comes to my food in that generally I do not like it touching each other and I do not mix it all together. So I had to overcome the thought of my whole meal all wrapped into one. I figured it was worth a try and is filled with all my holiday favorites despite the pie.

The ingredient rundown is a warm shell then cranberry sauce spread on the shell stuffing, spoonful of turkey, mashed potatoes, yams and top it off with corn and a side of gravy.  Now I ordered mine with no yams or sweet potatoes as I call them, or cranberry spread, so you can pick and choose what you want on it. When I got it home I realized it was not as huge as their average burritos but still packed with ingredients.

My first bite was a big bite of warm stuffing and corn and I must say it was pretty good. As I made my way further down the burrito I bit into a huge chunk of dark turkey meat. Awesome for some, but not for me since I only like white meat I kept eating and much to my dismay every single piece of turkey in mine was.... you guessed it dark meat. So basically I ate a stuffing, mashed potato and corn burrito. I did ask after the fact if you can order one with just white or dark meat and they said no it is all combined so keep that in mind.

All in all I thought the taste of everything was very fresh just like I scooped it up right off the dinner table, but definitely would have been even better with an actual bite of turkey in it. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 6. So if you are feeling lazy this Thanksgiving and don't wan't to cook or just want an easy alternative check out the Thanksgiving Burrito available until the end of November. Burrito Union is located at 1332 E. 4th Street in Duluth.
