The Holiday Season is quickly approaching and with that comes a lot of time with family. So, in order to break up the monotony how about you throw in a movie that the whole family can enjoy.
I have made it easy for you with my Top 5 Thanksgiving themed movie picks. All of these movies would be fine to watch with the parents but some of them do contain a little adult humor or content so you need to use your own discretion about what kids can watch too.
Originally aired way back in 1973 the classic Peanuts gang celebrates the Thanksgiving Holiday. Of course when the plans all fall on Charlie Brown you know things will not turn out as planned, but of course everything works out in the end..
Directed by Jody Foster this movie hits the nail on the head of coming "Home for the Holidays." The movie came out in 1995 with quite the all star cast. holly Hunter is the main character who heads to her mom and dads for Thanksgiving and hilarity ensues.
I find it hard to even put into words how much I love this movie. Everyone did such and incredible job and Sandra Bullock was amazing of course. Based on a true story this movie will make you laugh, cry and cheer. Perfect for the whole family and one of the scenes includes Thanksgiving dinner, so another reason it made this list.
I have found myself quoting this movie many more times than I should admit. Classic crazy Pauly Shore heads to the Midwest with his new friend Becka for Thanksgiving and finds himself on a farm for the very first time. Being a bit of a City Slicker myself I can relate to the appeal of everything you can see and do in that environment.
One of the best John Hughes movies ever with the late great John Candy and Steve Martin, the ultimate odd couple. As fate would have it these two have their lives intertwined while both trying to get back to Chicago for Thanksgiving. An absolute must see!
