As many of you have heard in the news, Jeff Bowen Jr. was swept away after jumping into the DEEPS on Tuesday August 2nd in Duluth.  Jeff was a good friend of my son, who was also with him at the Deeps when he drowned.

I wanted to post this as a tribute to Jeff, who was such a great young man and friend to our son. The first time I had met Jeff I was shocked by how tall he was, he was  only 12 , and  I kept thinking to myself wow, how much taller is he going to get? Jeff was always very soft spoken, but very polite. he was a great athlete and avid skate boarder. I also remember Jeff always having his backpack with him were ever he went, and he would always leave it outside of the door at our house. I would laugh and tell him he could bring it inside, he always said that is o.k......almost like he did not want to intrude.  I am truly heartbroken for his family and friends who have to move on with out him, gone but never forgotten .   A benefit for Jeff's family to help cover funeral expenses will be held on Monday August 15th at Clyde Iron Works from 5-9p, also  an account has been set up : Jefferson Bowen Memorial Fund  at US Bank. Thank you Jeff for all the joy and laughs you brought to so many people.
