Oscar Nominee Joaquin Phoenix Is ‘The Master’ of Our Hearts – The Daily Swoon
We’re continuing Oscars week with another sexy nominee — this time it’s Joaquin Phoenix from ‘The Master‘ and a totally classic cutie.
Joaquin has been acting since he was a kid and you’ve probably seen him in any number of movies, including ‘To Die For,’ ‘Gladiator,’ ‘Signs’ and ‘Walk the Line,’ in which he played country music legend Johnny Cash. Does Johnny Cash make you swoon? He should. Go grab your grandma’s cassette tapes and get learned.
Phoenix had a rough patch a few years ago when he decided to grow his hair and beard out and make a documentary with Casey Affleck, which may or may not have been fake and featured Phoenix acting like a total tool and trying to launch a rap career. Either way, it was hilarious, but we’re glad he cleaned himself back up again because he’s too pretty to look so homeless.
There’s something dark and edgy about Phoenix, who recently starred in ‘The Master’ and is nominated for an Oscar for his work as lead actor in the film. He can really take a character to an unpleasant place if needed, and his work is almost always daring and provocative, which makes him even sexier.
