If there was any question if Joe Mauer would retire after this season, I think the Twins answered that question today by letter Mauer catch in the 9th inning of today's game.

Joe Mauer put on the catching gear and came walking out on the field to a monstrous applause that lasted several minutes as the public address announcer said, "now catching for the Minnesota Twins, #7, JOE MAUER!"

Many have speculated that Mauer will end his 15-year MLB career after this season, and this has been the biggest indication yet that the speculation will soon become reality.

After the game, Mauer was greeted by his twin daughters on the field. #7 is the only catcher in MLB history to win three batting titles and will no doubt go down as one of the greatest Twins ever.
