John Newman's poignant video for his new single, 'Out of My Head,' perfectly illustrates the meaning behind the heartbreaking ballad.

The latest clip from the up-and-coming British singer-songwriter takes it cues from the song's opening lines: "Living in a broken home alone / 16 weeks since you've been gone / As time goes by there's no pieces left / No memories of you and me." Newman has said he was going through a bad breakup as he made the album, and it's easy to believe him after seeing this.

Dressed smartly in a suit, Newman delivers the evocative track on a set that's being slowly destroyed, with ash flowing through the smoke-filled air. The video's classic black-and-white look reflects the 23-year-old pop-soul singer's classic, retro sound.

Recently named one of PopCrush's 14 Artists to Watch 2014, John dropped his debut album, 'Tribute,' in the U.S. in January. It hit No. 1 upon its release in the U.K. last October. He is nominated in three categories at Feb. 19's Brit Awards, including British Male Solo Artist, British Single and British Video.

Fans can Shazam the 'Out of My Head' video to learn how they can win exclusive, personalized Newman merchandise, including an autographed and framed poster and signed vinyl and CD versions of 'Tribute.'
