After a win over Canada, the US Men's Olympic Curling Team is making history, moving on to play in the first ever gold medal game the United States has ever been in for curling. This exciting win over the three-time defending gold medalist Canadian team Thursday morning gives Team Shuster an opportunity for redemption against Team Sweden after losing to them earlier in this year's Olympic Games.

The match between the third-ranked United States and second-ranked Team Canada was closely contested, and ultimately comes down to a 2-point steal in the 8th end that set up the United States with an opportunity to close out the game with the hammer. That proved vital in closing the game, as it gave Team USA the opportunity to clear a Canadian stone off the button with the final shot of the 10th end to clench the 5-3 victory and move on to the gold medal game.

Team USA's first ever appearance in an Olympic Curling gold medal game will be against a strong opponent. Team Sweden is the top-ranked team in this year's Olympic games coming out of round robin play. Team USA played Sweden last Friday, losing 10-4 in round robin play. Here's hoping Team USA can continue their hot play and come up with a win!

Team USA and Team Sweden will face off early Saturday morning (or late Friday night, depending on how you want to look at it). The match will start at 12:35 am local time here in the Duluth area.
