It looks like newly-acquired Minnesota Wild defenseman Jordan Leopold can thank his daughter for his return to the State of Hockey. Leopold's move from the Columbus Blue Jackets was one of two trades the Wild completed just before the trade deadline Monday.

Leopold played his college hockey for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and his family continued to live in Minnesota while he played for Columbus. A heartfelt letter from his 11-year old daughter to the Wild to bring him back home may just have the tipping point for the team's brass looking to add some defensive depth to a team looking to return to the playoffs.

There's no word from the Wild Front Office to confirm that the letter had any real influence on the trade, but it's still cute to see that his daughter got her wish!
