It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a purple-haired (for now) pop star! Katy Perry will soon star in her own comic book. But don’t expect capes, super villains or X-ray vision.

MTV reports that the comic book will actually be about Perry’s life and rise to fame. The unauthorized comic book from Bluewater Comics will be called ‘Fame: Katy Perry.’ It will cover her rise from sheltered daughter of Christian fundamentalist pastors to her hard work securing a record deal in Los Angeles.

Perry is only the latest in a long line of well-respected superstars to received the graphic novel treatment, but not all of her predecessors were pleased with their own. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber previously sent Bluewater cease-and-desist letters, as their images and names were used without their consent. However, Bluewater told MTV at the time, “We are 100% within our First Amendment rights. We knew our rights on this before we jumped into the biography world. These are 100% biographies on their lives.”

Indeed, it sounds like Perry’s comic book will cover a lot of the same material as her ‘Part of Me’ documentary. And who knows? If it touches on her recent performances of ‘Part of Me,’ it will probably have a lot of traditional comic book hero elements!
