Remember all those times Taylor Swift talked about how her 1989 track "Bad Blood" was about a certain female pop star in the music industry? And eventually, the world (err, well, TMZ) put two and two together and figured out she was in fact dissing Katy Perry because of a ridiculous squabble over tour dancers?

Well, Katy's had just about enough of the indirect shade from the country-pop-turned-regular-pop princess. And now, she's masterfully throwing a little bit of (deserved) shade of her own.

If you've been following along for the ride, you'll already know that last night, Nicki Minaj sent out a string of tweets about not being nominated for Video Of The Year at this year's 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, in which she laid out some very valid points about the all-encompassing cultural phenomenon that was her ode to all things booty, "Anaconda," as well as her frustrations with pop music and cultural appropriation as a black female pop star.

Out of nowhere, Taylor Swift sent a tweet to Minaj, evidently assuming that Nicki's tweets were directly aimed at her. "It's unlike you to pit women against each other," Taylor wrote to Nicki, only to then undercut Minaj with a condescending invitation onto the VMAs stage. "If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on." (Still so rude as all hell, for the record.)

And that's when Katy decided to step in.

Remember how "Bad Blood" — song and video — are all about, um...pitting women against each other? As the all-but-confirmed inspiration behind "Bad Blood," who better than Katy Perry herself to point out this blatant hypocrisy? "Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman...," she wrote this afternoon, directly referencing Swift's tweet.

Instead of engaging with the ongoing #TwitterDrama any further, Katy decided to run with the inevitable Twitter shockwave reaction by sticking up for her long time BFF Rihanna — who is likely too busy on an island somewhere, counting her newly reacquired money while being far too phucks-free to care about any of this — and the eligibility of "Bitch Better Have My Money" — which, hey, yeah! Why wasn't it nominated for anything, anyway?

"The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV" the ever-loyal, card carrying Navy member wrote.

There are so, so very many ways for this to now go. Will Taylor invite Katy Perry to join her on stage, too? Will Nicki extend a Twitter high-five to Katy? Will RiRi throw Taylor one of her deadly eye-rolls and remain deeply unbothered?

One thing's for sure: It's officially never safe to log on to Twitter.
