Waking up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy isn't easy (unless your name is Sean Combs), so Ke$ha is taking her sweet time to make sure her new album surpasses her last. Many Ke$ha fans were anticipating a new album by the end of this year, but the release won't likely come until sometime next spring.

The reason for the delay is that Ke$ha wants to deliver something big. She plans on releasing something with more of a rock flavor, saying she wants to "reinvent pop" with her new album. The rock interest comes from some of her musical interests and the opportunities to get to know rock singers like Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper. Ke$ha actually recorded a song with Alice Cooper for Cooper's new album set to be released in October.

Ke$ha had this to say about pop music and her musical interests:

If you were to ask me what my favorite song on pop radio is I can't really answer that because I don't really listen to it that much. I'm more well versed in old school, more rock 'n' roll because that's what I like listening to.

As far as her new album goes, she said "I wouldn't be surprised if my next record does have more of an edge."

If you'd like to hear Ke$ha with a little edge, check out a sample of that song she did with Alice Cooper below.
