Kemps Wants You to Vote for New Flavor at the State Fair
Kemps wants you to help in picking their new ice cream flavor. At the beginning of the summer, Kemps took submissions for flavor ideas and the ideas have been narrowed down to two contenders: "Land of 10,000 Licks" and "Pubcorn and Peanuts."
Land of 10,000 Licks is described as "Sweet cream ice cream with thick swirls of milky caramel with bits of toffee and sea salt sprinkled throughout."
Pubcorn and Peanuts is "Popcorn ice cream (made by simmering freshly popped corn in the cream base then straining), crushed salted peanuts, thick ribbons of porter-infused dark chocolate."
Voting is currently happening online at KempsNextFlavor.com; and if you plan on attending the Minnesota State Fair, you can sample each flavor before casting your vote. Sampling and on-site voting can be done at the Kemps booth on Machinery Hill at the fairgrounds between 1pm and 2pm daily.
The winning flavor will be announced September 1 using a combination of online votes, fair-goer votes, and celebrity judge votes. Celebrity judges include Joe Mauer's mom, "Sweet Martha" Rossini Olson, and the soon-to-be crowned Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
