Rumors swirling about Kesha's current rehab stint have forced her mother to speak out publicly to clarify the situation.

Kesha is being treated for bulimia, her mom, Pebe Sebert, tells Celebuzz. The 26-year-old singer is not also being treated for alcoholism, as previous reports have suggested.

"That's a total lie," Sebert said yesterday (Jan. 8). "The place she's at is an eating disorder center. When [reports] say 'people close to her' I will tell you I travel with her everywhere, her little brother, her assistant, makeup artist, talk to anyone."

Ever since Kesha was admitted into rehab on Jan. 3, gossips have been whispering about possible alcohol addiction as well. She may sing about brushing her teeth with Jack Daniel's, but she doesn't have a problem, says Sebert, herself a recovering alcohol and drug addict.

"She might be crazy and she might get s--t-faced drunk, but everyone does," Sebert says, laughing. "She might have a few drinks here and there. But she doesn't have a drinking problem."

Sebert reveals that her daughter's bulimia started at age 18. "I remember over a period of a few months she got really skinny and she said she was running Runyon Canyon [in L.A.] and just eating well," she says. "The truth is she was throwing up."

The good news is that Kesha is "doing well" in rehab, according to her mother. The bad news? "This is going to be really hard for her," Sebert says, adding that she expects Kesha will need more than the standard 30 days of treatment.
