Last Happy Chef in America Located in Mankato Gets Voice Back

I'd hate to admit it, but I remember visiting a Happy Chef restaurant as a child and having the giant Chef talk to me, now years later there is only one Happy Chef in America and it recently got its voice back.

Anyone that has driven into Mankato, MN has likely seen the 50-foot Happy Chef statue greeting you as you came into town on US-169. For the past 20-years, the Chef has been unable to talk, but a new owner has put an end to silence.

Outfitted with new electronics, a fresh coat of paint, a motion sensor, and a fresh new voice, the Happy Chef is greeting people once again to celebrate his 50th birthday. Check out the great story from KARE 11's Boyd Huppert.
