Monty Lee Wilkes worked with many famous musicians including Prince, The Replacements, Nirvana and The Beastie Boys.

Wilkes career had spanned more than 30 years running sound for many artists on tour and helped transform the sound of First Avenue from Disco to Rock in the early 1980's. Wilkes was born in Barnum and, passed away at his parents home in Kettle River. He had been diagnosed with Cancer last Fall.

Wilkes loved the Twin Cities music scene. Even with all the artists he worked with and tours he went on, he called Minnesota and the Twin Cities home.
