You may have noticed a brown plastic bag in your mailbox a few days ago. That is all part of the food drive taking place tomorrow. Letter carriers all over the country will be participating in this one day event to help stock local food shelves.

Saturday, May 14th is the Annual Postal Carriers Food Drive which locally will help benefit Chum Food Bank in Duluth. For many families it is an extra struggle to feed their kids with school being out, so this food drive can be a big help.

Just grab some non-perishable food items and place them in the plastic bag you received in the mail, or a bag of your own and place it out by your mail box. That is all you have to do, and you will know that you have helped out some of your neighbors. The food drive will be going from 8 am-3 pm, but they are asking that bags be out by 9 am.

A big thank you to all the letter carriers and volunteers who work so diligently to make this day happen, helping out so many people in our area.
