Lil Wayne Settles Lawsuit With Another Producer

It looks as if Lil Wayne is cutting his long list of lawsuits down one by one. TMZ is reporting that Weezy recently settled a claim by a producer who sued Young Money/Cash Money for $1.5 million over the song ‘Love Me or Hate Me’ on ‘Tha Carter III.’

Producer David Kirkwood alleges in his suit that he wrote and produced ‘Love Me or Hate Me’ but didn’t received royalties or fees for his production services. At first, Weezy’s camp denied that they owed Kirkwood any money, but decided to settle the matter out of court for an undisclosed sum. Smart move.

Wayne recently settled a $20 million lawsuit filed by producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison, who claims he was never paid for songs he produced on ‘Tha Carter III,’ including the Grammy Award-winning hit ‘Lollipop.’

Wayne still has a couple of lawsuits to settle before he’s in the clear. There’s a $15 million copyright-infringement case by production company Done Deal and a lawsuit by the Drummer Boyz who are suing Wayne over the ‘How to Love’ beat.

We are glad that Weezy is addressing his legal cases that’s been backlogged in the legal system for over a year now. Hopefully, he will be able to settle his remaining cases amicably with all of the producers.
