One lucky deer got quite the break as Jeff Slygh came to her rescue, when she fell through thin ice and was struggling to get back to land.

How ironic on a deer hunting weekend in Minnesota that avid outdoorsman, Jeff Slygh helped save the life of a frightened deer who was in trouble. Jeff quickly realized that he had to do the humane thing and help, knowing she was doomed to drown yesterday afternoon when she wandered onto Nichols Lake near Cotton MN.

So, Jeff hopped in his canoe and chipped away at the ice for about an hour safely returning the deer to the shore. Of course nobody knows what her future holds, but thankfully with a little determination and compassion one man showed us all that a kind gesture can go a long way.
