Macklemore Reminisces About Playing First Ave. in Minneapolis in New Song

Macklemore released a new song with Kesha last week called Good Old Day in which the rapper gives a shout out to a Minneapolis landmark.

Macklemore remembers the days when he was just getting his music career off the ground and playing shows like First Ave. in Minneapolis.

In the beginning of the song, Macklemore says...

I was thinkin' 'bout the band
I was thinkin' 'bout the fans
We were underground
Loaded merch in that 12-passenger van
In a small club in Minnesota
And the snow outside of 1st Ave
I just wanted my name in a star

And I can confirm that he does have his "name in a star" on the outside of the world-famous music venue.
