Madonna’s ‘Masterpiece’ Wins Golden Globe for ‘Best Original Song’

Finally, some Madonna news that doesn’t center around her recent comments about Lady Gaga. Madonna picked up the 2012 Golden Globe for ‘Best Original Song (Motion Picture)’ for her song ‘Masterpiece,’ which plays during the end credits of her directorial debut ‘W.E.’ The Globes were handed out last night (Jan. 15.) Congrats, Madge.
Madge, dressed in a gold and green cap-sleeved gown, also presented the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. She showed her trademark spry sense of humor during a verbal exchange with host Ricky Gervais. No, she didn’t call his hosting talents “reductive” and she didn’t accuse him of copying her British accent, even though he is and she is American.
Instead, when Gervais commented on Madonna during her intro, saying she’s still a virgin, Madge was quick with her retort, saying. “If you say I’m still like a virgin, Ricky, why don’t you come over here and do something about it?” Zing!
Is that a “New Couple Alert” we smell cooking? Nah, just Madge one upping a jokester with an even better joke.
