Mall of America Expansion Underway; Megamall to Add 50 New Shops, Ice Rink, Waterpark, Hotel and More [PHOTOS]

The Mall of America in Bloomington is about to become the super meagmall with a new expansion that will see the addition of 50 new shops, more restaurants, luxury hotel and an office tower. An NHL-sized skating rink and the state's largest warkerpark are in the plans as well.

The Mall of America attracts over 42 million people every year and experts predict that this expansion could draw an additional 20 million visitors annually.

The $2.5 billion expansion aided by $250 million in tax breaks will nearly double the size of the mall when complete, which could take some years.
