Every year the Twin Cities Business Magazine releases a list of the 'Top 100 People To Know' and this year Duluth Mayor Larson makes the list.

The magazine recognizes people who are leaders within their organization, have courageously overcome challenges, or are considered up and coming leaders in their fields. Mayor Larson spoke about being on the list:

“I am honored to be selected by Governor Dayton and Twin Cities Business Magazine as a leader who represents the needs and opportunities of women and business. This recognition reflects the hard work of our community and the many accomplishments we achieved together. I look forward to adding my voice as we advance opportunities for women while also growing our economy in partnership with Duluth and throughout the state.

Governor Dayton also announced a 'Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota' in October and Mayor Larson has been invited to participate on a 40-member Council for this first of its kind initiative. The Council is a public-private partnership and a multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment to achieve equity in opportunities and to improve the lives of young women of color throughout the state.

The group will develop an action plan by April 2017 that identifies and creates opportunities for the advancement of young women. Congrats to Mayor Larson and I love seeing the continuing improvements to this beautiful city.
