MGMT performed at the legendary First Avenue on Monday night to a sold out crowd. The show was originally scheduled for Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. That didn't bother Frontman Andrew VanWyngarden as he told the crowd "It sure is cool to play here at First Avenue," and crowd responded with loud screams and cheers.

MGMT members founded by Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser also consists of Matthew Asti, James Richardson and Will Berman. They opened the show with "Weekend Wars" from their breakout album Oracular Spectacular. The crowd really got into the 3rd song "Time To Pretend" and the night escalated from there.

The band played a tight set and Andrew's vocals were spot on and precise (especially during his falsetto) most notably during their hit "Electric Feel." They teased the crowd most of the night, leaving them in suspense before finally playing an extended 8 minute version of their biggest hit "Kids" much to the crowds delight as the whole place was jumping and singing along.

The band was positioned towards the front of the stage and a big projection screen displayed a stunning psychedelic visual display of colorful images. MGMT proved the famous quote If you build it... They will come!
