Was Michael Jackson’s Hologram Too Cool or Too Much? – Readers Poll
When Michael Jackson’s hologram performed ‘Slave to the Rhythm’ at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, his number ignited a wealth of responses. While some loved the fact that we could still see the King of Pop perform years after his death, others felt that the hologram performance was just too strange. Was his holographic number too cool or too much?
On the one hand, the fact that we have technology that makes it possible to basically resurrect the music icon is undeniably amazing — not to mention that the hologram performance was pretty realistic and featured all of Jackson’s iconic dance moves, including his famous moonwalk. In some ways, it was almost like Jackson was back in his prime for just one night — and fans everywhere had a taste of their idol once again.
On the other hand, is bringing back Jackson years after his death disrespectful? While it was Jackson’s voice on the track and his pre-recorded moves as the hologram, at the end of the day, he is gone — and many think that bringing him back in that form is just too strange, almost like seeing a ghost.
