The Minnesota Timberwolves will be hitting the court this season in some uniforms inspired by Prince's 'Purple Rain'.

The uniforms are part of a partnership between the NBA and Nike, the 'City Edition' series was introduced last year when the Timberwolves featured a dull gray uniform that was meant to represent the coat of a wolf, cute, but they decided to go bold this year.

The uniform features font inspired by the 1984 'Purple Rain' movie and album, the jersey features "Wolves" in bright purple with white outline. The shorts of the uniform has "MPLS" in a purple font (no outline) and the Timberwolves logo.

Prince was a big basketball fan, he even played on his private court at Paisley Park from time to time, most famously with Eddie and Charlie Murphy. No word on when the uniforms will make their debut.
