Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith was named to his first career Pro Bowl today after racking up 87 tackles (56 solo), 6 QBHs, 3 TFLs, 2 INTs, 2 PDs, 1.5 sacks and 1 FF during the 2015 season.

Harrison is the first Vikings DB to be named to the Pro Bowl since CB Antoine Winfield in 2010 and the 8th Vikings S to receive a Pro Bowl nod.

Smith replaces Seahawks S Earl Thomas who is sidelined with an injury.

When asked how he heard the news Harrison said, "Rick Spielman called me this morning, and I was actually still asleep and then my agent called me as well, so I called Spielman back and talked to him. Then [Coach Mike] Zimmer shot me a text – it was good hearing from them. It made me wish we were playing today."

The Pro Bowl will be live from Hawaii's Aloha Stadium Sunday starting at 6pm on ESPN.
