The Minnesota Zoo's baby Tapir will be in the exhibit for the first time today.

The male Malayan Tapir was born July 30th to mother Bertie and will be on exhibit for just a hour today (9:30 to 10:30am). After today the unnamed Tapir will be display daily from 9 to 10 am and the older he gets, the longer he'll be out. The Malayan Tapir is an endangered species and are native to southeast Asia. The zoo's baby makes it the 37th Tapir in North America.

I think Tapir's are beautiful and I love that the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley has a new addition to the family. I'm a little curious to see how they will name him, hopefully they'll have a poll for the public to vote and suggest names. Let me know what you think of the new Tapir in the comments below.
