As one year ends and another begins, the promise of the future leads us to think of what can be. Many of us set resolutions for the new year, others simply have excitement and hopes for what the the future will bring. As we step into 2012, the MIX staff shares their hopes, goals, excitement, and resolutions for the new year!

Jeanne

Boy such a tall order to fill, not only for myself, but in thinking about my family and friends as well. 2011, was a very interesting year with many ups and downs, but Thankfully more ups. Some things I am looking forward to this year

  • Possibly a New Lady Gaga CD?
  • Plenty of warm sunny days at the beach
  • Seeing my family who lives out of state
  • Continuing to enjoy being glasses free…thanks to the Weis Eye Center for my Lasik Procedure!
  • Lot’s of laughs
  • Making more memories with the kids, and watching them continue to bloom into young adulthood….Double Yikes
  • -All the adventures ahead with this great crew of people at Mix 108
  • Last but not least, the old standby….get back on the exercise wagon and get in shape

Laura

My resolution this year is garbage. Really, it is. In order to make myself a more organized (less hoard-ish) kind of person I need to think before I keep. Before I save the placemat I had under my food at a restaurant I celebrated my son’s first birthday at in hopes to someday scrapping it, or rescuing the broken (fill in the blank) from the trash with delusions I’ll fix it later I will ask myself, “Do I really need this, or will I be ok without it?” Since I moved to our new house in September, a good 50% of our random household items are still in the garage. I’ve been doing ok without them, so why do I keep them? Why do I still have my high school AP style guide? I’m pretty sure it’s out of date by now. Why do I still have trunks (huge, heavy trunks) FULL of every piece of paper my kids brought home from school? Why do I keep every receipt, even from the grocery store? Why can’t I let go of so many random things? So for my New Year’s resolution, I plan to keep less and throw more. Or recycle. Or donate. Or save for a garage sale.

I'm going super cliche with my 2012 resolution, lose some weight. I've had that same resolution in years past but I've never really taken it to seriously. Going into 2012 I have more reason than ever to take off some weight, the first being so I can live longer and enjoy my beautiful new daughter and watch her grow into a woman and start a family of her own. Second, I have a wedding to plan for myself and my wonderful fiancé and I DO NOT want to be chubby in those pictures, ya know?! So hopefully between the changes in my life and writing this on the Internet for the world to see, it will motivate my booty into gear!! Check back at the end of the year.

Nick

2011 was an interesting year for me. After going to school for broadcasting and being able to work in various roles in radio the entire time I was going to school, I was excited to jump into things head-first after graduating. As fate would have it, I found myself out of the "biz" and in the hunt to get back into radio. I was lucky enough to find a great opportunity working with Tony, Jeanne, Laura, and the rest of the crew - as well as meet some of our fantastic listeners and readers at events.

My hope for 2012 is to continue to enjoy myself in what I would refer to as more of a "hobby" and less of a "job" here at the station.

Happy 2012 to all of our listeners and readers from the staff of MIX 108!
