To be honest, before today I never heard of a snow donut before, but I have to say that they are awesome!

With the latest Arctic Blast covering a huge portion of the United States strange weather phenomenons are popping up, like snow in Georgia and "Snow Donuts" appearing in fields and peoples yards. Basically how they work is in an open space the wind picks up enough that is starts rolling the snow along the ground forming these donut looking formations.

Living in Duluth, you may be hard pressed to see one of these due to the hills and all the trees. But, in a place like Kansas that is flat as pancake from the middle of the state all the way to the western border, Mother Nature can whip up some doozies!
