New Music Out This Week: Jody Watley, Theory of a Deadman and Eric Clapton and Friends [VIDEO]

Unlike movies, new music releases are often a little slower in the summer. Maybe many of these artists are out enjoying the beach or riding in their yachts, either way a few notables this week.

1.) Jody Watley: “Paradise“ (six-song EP) Oh be still my heart, the legendary Jody Watley... a true staple in my c.d. collection and someone I played to excess. Just ask any of my neighbors in the various places I have lived. Only six songs, but to her true fans it has been a long time coming!

2.) Eric Clapton & Friends : “The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale” (guests: Tom Petty, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Mark Knopfler, Derek Trucks and Cale’s widow Christine Lakeland)-Much respect to Mr. Clapton, a true legend, and not a bad line up of guest on this album.

3.) Theory of a Deadman : “SaVages” - I really like this band and always have,but I have to say I actually have forgotten about them. They definitely come hard in this latest release. Check out their latest single "Drown" below.
