WCCO TV in Minneapolis is reporting a middle school in New Prague, Minnesota was placed on lockdown this morning after someone called 911 reporting a shooting within the school.

According to the report, police are on the scene and the preliminary investigation shows no shooting occurred. The situation has still prompted a lockdown situation for students and staff, which is reportedly still under effect. Along with the school, a nearby building was also put on alert.

Police are searching the building and we will have updates as they become available.

According to City Pages, there was a bomb threat at the New Prague High School a month ago.

UPDATE: (10:15 am 03/20/13): Police have finished their sweep of the area and have declared it clear. The school plans to send students home at 10:30 this morning.

UPDATE: (11:50 am 03/20/13): City Pages is reporting they have learned police have taken a 12-year old into custody over this morning's 911 call, which is being considered a potential hoax.

New Prague is located about 45 miles south of Minneapolis and has school size of about 875 students in grades 6-8.
