Nicki Minaj Performs ‘Freedom’ on ‘Ellen’
In promotion of her ‘American Idol‘ gig, Nicki Minaj stopped by ‘Ellen’ to sing ‘Freedom,’ a tune from her latest re-release, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up,’ surrounded by fog and giant chandeliers.
‘Freedom’ is more vocal ballad than hip-hop song, though the first minute allowed Minaj to do what she does best by rapping about her success and calling out all the other “hateful b—-es.” From there, she sang along with a backing track during the uplifting chorus.
