The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting a portion of Interstate 35 in Duluth has been shut down for a time due to standing water on the roadway. Both Northbound and Southbound lanes through the tunnels near Downtown Duluth will be closed until MNDOT can clear drainage and make the roadways passable once again. There is no defined timetable at this time.

Northbound

Northbound lanes are closed between MN 194 (Mesaba Avenue) and 26th Avenue East. Drivers should exit on Mesaba and travel downtown via Superior Street or 2nd Street northward to your destination.

Southbound

Southbound lanes are closed between 26th Avenue East and and Lake Avenue. Drivers should follow Superior Street and can access I-35 from either the 5th Avenue West ramp or via the onramp at Mesaba Avenue.
