Prince's family has announced an official tribute concert for the late music icon, set to take place on October 13 in his hometown, Minneapolis, at the U.S. Bank Stadium.

Of course, since his untimely death back in April, the tributes have rolled in, some celebrated and appreciated, others not so well-received. However, this concert is aiming to be the biggie, or the true, official tribute to Prince's legacy.

The Associated Press reports performers will soon be announced on a rolling basis. His brothers and sisters said in a joint statement that they "have been moved by the tremendous love and support of Prince's friends and fans around the world."

So far, the most widely appreciated tribute came from longtime, friend/musical muse Sheila E. at the BET Awards, who offered an electric performance that called on many of his mainstream and b-side hits, including "Erotic City," "Housequake" and "U Got the Look." Hopefully, this tribute will feature some of the artists who had he biggest impact on Prince's life and music, including bassist Larry Graham and the Time.

In the meantime, the family says they're excited about the prospect of bringing everyone together.

"We are excited for the opportunity to bring everyone together for the official family celebration of Prince's life, music and legacy, and there is no better place to do it than his hometown of Minneapolis," the statement from the family read. "We are honored by the artists who will pay tribute and grateful to those that have worked so hard to make this celebration possible."
