The Northern Lights Express high-speed rail project that would connect Duluth and the Twin Cities meetings are happening this month.

In this high-speed rail project, there are 169 public and private railroad grade crossings. A railroad grade crossing is where a road crosses railroad tracks at the same level rather than crossing above or below the tracks.

These crossings need to be evaluated for potential safety improvements. While I think this rail project is a great idea, there is nothing more important to a city then it's citizens. There will be four public meetings on this project throughout the month of October:

  • Hinckley on October 18th
  • Cambridge on October 19th
  • Askov on October 24th
  • Superior on October 25th

The Superior meeting will be from from 5-7 p.m. and take place at the city's Government Center (1316 N. 14th St). I think the rail project will make transportation a lot easier between the Cities and Duluth. Let me know what you think about the project in the comments and check out the map below.
