The students at Raleigh Edison Charter School in Duluth are taking part in Global Youth Service Day by building a garden.

The garden is a student lead project that aims to teach the kids about where food comes from and how to maintain a garden. Plus it helps get students more access to healthy food if they cannot get it or get enough.

According to Shawn Koskie, "During the summer the Eagles Nest After School Program will maintain it. The produce will go back into the school as well as the families of the school."

The school will be hosting a family night on Friday, April 21st from 4 pm - 5 pm. There will be various events going on including the start of the garden.
