Register for Saturday’s 29th Annual YWCA Mother’s Day Walk/5K Run
Mix 108 is proud to be a sponsor again this year for the 29th Annual YWCA Mother’s Day Walk/Run. The 5K run was started 29 years ago by Betty Brasgala. As an avid runner, she saw the need for a women-only event in Duluth to inspire women to “get off the sidelines”. After three years, Betty chose to affiliate the race with the YWCA.
In celebration of this tradition, the 5K run is still for women only. In January 2005, Betty Brasgala was diagnosed with breast cancer. The race was renamed and will forever be known as “Betty’s Race”.
The fabulous 2 mile walk is all inclusive. All friends and family are invited to participate regardless of age or gender. Wheelchairs, strollers and pets are also welcome in the 2 mile walk only.
It’s not just a day for a run or walk though! Some other great highlights of the day will include:
- Jeanne Ryan!
- An Awards Ceremony
- Health & Wellness Expo
- Fabulous Prizes
- Health Equipment Demos
- Live Entertainment
- Children’s Activities
- Face Painting
- Free Massages
