One of my favorite moments in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is when Rey returns to her home and makes a dinner of instant bread. It appears that this was not a digital effect, but instead old school movie magic and here's how they did it.

Movie effects experts Neal Scanlan and Chris Corbould talk about how they made Rey's tasty looking Jakku instant wonder bread , they simply blew up a small inflatable prop made to look like some bread while sucking the liquid out of the bowl, that's it, add some sound effects and instant movie magic.

This is part of the reason why I and a lot of other people love the original trilogy, creativity and practical effects coming together to create a strangely familiar world in a galaxy far, far away.
