These days, Taylor Swift's concerts double as exclusive social engagements: Since the singer's 1989 World Tour kicked off in May, she's welcomed Justin Timberlake, Julia Roberts and Alanis Morissette to her stage. But, if ever delivered an invite, at least one of music's biggest stars will RSVP in the negative.

According to the Daily MailRihanna told NME's new magazine that she couldn't picture herself rubbing elbows with T. Swift in front of the country-gone-pop star's droves of fans.

"I don't think I would. I just don't think it makes sense," she said. "I don't think our brands are the same: I don't think they match, I don't think our audiences are the same. In my mind she's a role model, I'm not. I can't really say I'm a role model. I'm not perfect. I'm not trying to sell that."

She added that her philosophy—that people should be free to act however they choose to—might stand in too stark contrast to Swift's.

"I want people to have fun but be responsible, protect themselves and be in control of your life," she shared. "You can never judge people. I always made that a point. You never know what someone is going through."

And as far as Rihanna's own projects are concerned, she says her much-anticipated eighth album is still incomplete, but she's promising "something great."
