Rihanna‘s latest release ‘We Found Love’ leaped from 16th to ninth on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, giving the pop princess her 20th Top 10 single on the chart.

If you’re thinking that it seems like she compiled all those hits awfully quickly, you’re right; in fact, with ‘We Found Love,’ Rihanna has become the fastest solo artist ever to accomplish this feat.

Her first single ‘Pon De Replay’ debuted in June 2005, putting six years and four months between it and ‘We Found Love.’ This beats the previous mark of six years and nine months, which was set by none other than Madonna — and in that context, Rihanna’s record-breaking pace seems even more impressive.

With all those hits under her belt, Rihanna joins the pop charts elite; she’s now one of only 14 artists with 20 Top 10 singles to her name, and just the fifth woman to reach that milestone. It also puts her within shouting distance of the all-time Top 10 leaders, including Madonna (37), Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson (27 each), and Whitney Houston (23).

Something tells us she’ll get a lot closer to those totals after she releases a few more singles from her upcoming sixth album ‘Talk That Talk’ on November 18.
