Often times the American public ignores Scott Disick in light of how much attention his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian and her sisters get, but Disick is looking to take the spotlight for himself this time. He’s gunning for the lead role in the announced remake of ‘American Psycho.’

The movie is just 11 years old, but Lionsgate has reportedly hired a screenwriter to update the story. The original, based on author Bret Easton Ellis’ novel of the same name, starred ‘Batman’ actor Christian Bale as a villainous Wall Street banker — a story that seems especially timely now.

Disick has no acting experience (other than appearing on the Kardashian reality shows, of course) but on Thursday, he tweeted,

just heard there doing a remake of American Psycho! best news i have ever heard! i hope they call me!

For his part, Ellis seems on board with the idea, tweeting in response,

I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of “American Psycho” unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or MILES FISHER.

Even though Disick and Miles Fisher, the ‘Final Destination 5′ actor, look almost exactly like the yuppy homicidal title character, only time will tell if Ellis is seriously considering both men or simply drumming up publicity for the new project.
