Several Eateries in the Twin Ports Are Opening New Locations

Italian Restaurant Valentini's and How Sweet It Is Cakes will be opening up locations in the Holiday Center downtown, while 7 West Taphouse will be opening a location on Tower Avenue in Superior.

Valentini's Vicino Lago (Valentini's by the Lake) is an Italian restaurant on London Road and will be opening a Valentini's To Go in the downtown Holiday Center. It will be taking the place of the old Schlotzky's and will have soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and some of their signature Italian dishes.

How Sweet It Is Cakes is a bakery that also serves sandwiches, soups, salads, and of course desserts. According to an article from The Duluth News Tribune, the bakery is currently in a 1,000 square foot area downtown in the Medical Arts Building and will be moving to a much bigger 3,400 square foot area in the Holiday Center. How Sweet It Is will be across from Valentini's in the old Z's Deli location.

7 West Taphouse is a burger and brew restaurant downtown and will be building a new location in Superior on Tower Avenue. The taphouse plans on opening this fall in the location  of a former dental office. Another 7 West Taphouse will open in St. Cloud this summer. According to The Duluth News Tribune, owner Rick Lampton said "We will open two this year and see how well they do before deciding whether to venture into more". So there could be more.

I for one am always excited for food, more restaurants the merrier. I'm also glad to see the Holiday Center becoming a mini food court hub once again.
