The Green Bay Gazette is reporting that Shopko could be filing for bankruptcy as early as January 15, a pharmaceutical drug supplier says the retailer owes them $67 million. McKesson Corporation is claiming they have not been paid since December for the millions of dollars in drugs they supplied to Shopko. They have filed a restraining order against the retailer from allowing them to sell the medications through their pharmacies which was rejected in court.

An attorney for Shopko said " McKesson's request would require it to close its pharmacies, and perhaps even whole stores, potentially harming patients who need life-saving medications."  Back in December Shopko announced that they were closing 39 stores in 14 states including Minnesota,  by the end of February 2019.

Shopko locations in Minnesota are in Aitkin, Ely, Duluth, Moose Lake, Mora, and Two Harbors. There is no further word on which Minnesota store is expected to close or if bankruptcy is filed next week if this will cause anymore stores to close as well.
