The weather couldn't have been any better than it was for the 7th installment of Rhymesayers Entertainment's Soundset Festival at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN.

This years event was record setting and the most successful (ticket sales wise) and the lineup included music legends from different eras as well as 1 of todays biggest and most controversial stars Wiz Khalifa. The artists performed alternating sets on 2 side by side main stages that were hosted by MTV's Sway Calloway as well as the 5th Element Tent and the Essentials Element Tent that had DJ's spinning the wheels. Other forms of entertainment were a car show, skate boarding area and a graffiti wall where people could show off their artistic side.

There were plenty of booths to get a variety of foods and things to drink. The staff and security were on top of their game all day long. Kandis Knight was very helpful and hospitable who could not have treated the media any better... She truly did a great job handling the behind the scenes stuff. The lineup went on as scheduled without any problems even though there were moments of doubt that Wiz Khalifa would be able to perform his set due to his arrest of marijuana charges at a Texas airport the night before. He boarded a jet and made it to Minneapolis just hours prior to his set time.

HIGHLIGHTS: Rap superstar Nas celebrating the 20th anniversary of his hit album Illmatic put on a great show. Cypress Hill put on a energetic performance that included a few of their Mary Jane anthems that made them popular in the early 90's. The stars of today (2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa) really got the young crowd pumped up. And Atmosphere brining fellow home town and respected artist Brother Ali up on stage for a song.

LOWLIGHTS: Earl Wolf and Tyler The Creator put on a great show however... They were awfully rude saying negative things that ranged from "Minnesota is lame" to "I want to see you punch the person next to you in the face, with Tyler The Creator adding a few unnecessary anti gay slurs while on stage. And finally one of the main reasons why there is such a great festival every year (Atmosphere) was a little disrespected after some of the younger crowd left early on during his awesome set. Rhymesayers Entertainment and Soundset Festival prove that Minnesota has a HUGE fan base and it's only going to get stronger and I can't wait for the Soundset 2015 lineup to be announced!
