Starting Friday August 4th the DTA Trolley Will be Free

For those of you in the Twin Ports that rely on Public Transportation or would just like to take advantage of the convenience, starting this Friday the DTA Trolley will be free.

According to the DTA (Duluth Transit Authority) starting this Friday until September 4th all rides on the Port Town Trolley Service will be free of charge. This Free service is being put into place to encourage people to visit the Canal Park area especially for people parking at the DECC and Downtown Parking Ramps.

In early June the DTA changed Trolley Service to every 20 minutes, and also expanded the route which caused a surge in ridership. One of the goals with this plan is also to help alleviate the parking congestion for tourists due to limited parking and when special events are taking place.

This unique trolley will also give Hotel guests, tourists and locals alike a chance to see and explore Canal Park and the Downtown area at no charge.
