Winter is finally beginning to thaw (it lasted a good few weeks), and with it, FX is pulling Fargo out of the snow, and into an April premiere. Season 3 has officially set a date for spring, taking us all back to 2010 with a star-studded cast and dueling Ewan McGregors.

Raise your hand if you get bored and try out different accents. This is a habit I picked up as a kid that continues to this day. After watching the first season of Justified, for example, the rural Kentucky accent wormed its way so deeply into my brain that I had a hard time turning it off. As a result, one of my favorite videos of 2016 was this Wired piece where a dialogue coach weighed in on 32 different performances. It really highlights the amount of detail that goes into every single sentence an actor delivers.

At long last, Fargo Season 3 is finally starting to thaw out of that Minnesota cold. Not only do we have an impressive cast list, but also a spring premiere window, as cast and crew discuss the third year’s notably modern setting. Plus, what “kiss with the past” can we look forward to?

It’s difficult to say when FX might finally thaw out Fargo for some Season 3 footage, but the way this cast is going, they’d better break out the heaters. Latest to join the next chapter of Minnesota murder and mayhem is none other than Harry Potter favorite David Thewlis, albeit presumably not as a werewolf. If only!

FX’s Fargo may well give us a heart attack, if the excitement of every Season 3 star continues its upward trend. Were dual Ewan McGregors and Carrie Coon not enough to bring you back to Minnesota murder and mayhem, let us welcome Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Nikki Swango. NIKKI SWANGO.

Lest you think Carrie Coon’s TV tenure might end with The Leftovers Season 3, the critical favorite is officially moving to Fargo. FX has tapped Coon for a leading role alongside Ewan McGregor in the 2017 season, and a familiar-sounding role at that.

The first season of FX’s Fargo established the series as an entity independent from the film, without necessarily promising a sequel. Along came Season 2 to push Fargo closer to an anthology model, but according to creator Noah Hawley, if Season 3 doesn’t end up the final Fargo chapter, they may follow Louis C.K.’s practice of delaying new seasons until a worthy idea surfaces.

Hands down the movie "Fargo" is one of my Top 10 favorite movies of all time. The dark humor and raging Minnesota accents cannot be beat.
