The weather may have been crummy, with fog and sleet engulfing the Twin Ports, but that didn't stop some brave MIX 108 listeners from racing up the hill to become king or queen of Spirit Mountain.

We're happy to welcome a new face to the MIX 108 family! Meet Ian, our friendly intern fella. He will be helping with various on-air and online things around the station. The only problem is that we need a good nickname for him!

By now, you may have heard about the crazed 22 pound cat that trapped an Oregon family in their bedroom until police could arrive. Ironically, Jeanne and Cooper had a similar experience yesterday at the MIX 108 studios.

Following the latest installment of Jimmy Fallon's Brian Williams rap videos, midday fella' Chris Tyler made his "Feel Good Song of the Day" this morning the Sugar Hill Gang classic "Rapper's Delight". As the song hit the airwaves, Jeanne just couldn't contain her love for the song, and busted a few moves in the MIX 108 studio.

Folks around the radio station pull some pretty mean pranks on each other from time to time. Today, as I was surfing the web, I was traumatized by a hilariously disturbing knock-off video inspired by Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball".

Talking about Janelle Monae's upcoming appearance on Sesame Street, Jeanne commented about her favorite moment from the popular PBS children's show. Interestingly enough, it also happens to be my favorite moment as well!

During this morning's show, Jeanne and I talked about a story where Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton from the Fresh Prince) and LL Cool J had a beef with each other during their short-lived sitcom called "In The House". Following the song, I asked Jeanne to do her best Carlton Dance, and she obliged.

Jeanne discovered that a national fast food chain is rolling out a pop tart ice cream sandwich as a dessert item. Excited about the tasty possibilities, she decided to pick up supplies to try to make our own and try them out during the morning show.

Last week, while filling in for Jeanne on the morning show, Laura challenged me to grow a Duck Dynasty beard. Since then, I've let the facial hair grow in my ongoing #cooperbeard campaign - but I decided to show what the entire MIX staff would look like if we went "Duck Dynasty" style with facial hair.

Jeanne and Cooper headed out in a awesome stretch pink limousine courtesy of Escape Limousine to take two Mix 108 VIPs out to lunch.

In the category of "news that isn't news at all", Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had their baby daughter over Father's Day weekend, and now tabloid buzz is centered on what "Kimye" decided to call their little bundle of joy.

There is a new trend on the web called " "Sloth-facing," or "Quasimoderping." Basically, a little Photoshop magic to move the eyes and mouth around to make the subject look like a sloth. We've found some celebrity "sloth faces", and added some local Twin Ports celebrities from MIX 108, local TV stations, and even a Mayor.
