The 'Who's That Girl World Tour' in 1987 was the last time the Material Girl toured in Minnesota, that is until this weekend when Madonna brought her 'MDNA' tour to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul
For anyone who is a fan of Madonna, it seems kind of funny at times to look at her as a mom, but she showed off her son Rocco on the Ellen show, and helped raise some money for Breast Cancer Research.
Madonna is in the middle of her somewhat controversial "MDNA" tour, (which includes flashing her rear in Rome and flashing her breast in Istanbul) and it's set to hit the Twin Cities November 3rd. As a matter of fact, the Material Girl was so popular they added a second show on November 4th. If there was any time to see Madonna--it sound like this would be it. What goes into a production of that size for a woman like Madonna? Well, the LA Times has done the research to break down the tour by the numbers.
The rivalry between Lady Gaga and Madonna, which was started, stoked and supported by Madonna with her near-constant onstage disses of Gaga, nearly came to an end in the Bronx last month. Rumor has it that Madonna extended an olive branch and offered native New Yorker (and Yankee fan) Gaga a chance to duet onstage when Madge played Yankee Stadium. Gaga turned her down, though!
Madonna really likes to beat a dead horse, doesn't she? The singer dissed her (much younger) rival Lady Gaga onstage again, this time in Atlantic City. Madge dedicated her performance of her Golden Globe-winning song 'Masterpiece' to Gaga, and she added a nasty insult to the "dedication." Doesn't she have anything better to do than take cheap pot shots at Gaga? This rivalry is so January 2012, isn't it?
History could repeat itself this October in Los Angeles. According to the “official” MDNA tour Twitter account, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, both of whom made out with Madonna onstage at the 2003 MTV VMAs, may be appearing onstage with the Material Girl.
Controversy, thy name is Madonna. The singer, who has come under fire for incorporating swastikas into tour interludes, for flashing flesh, for bringing fake guns on stage and for desecrating Catholic symbols during her show, is standing her ground and defending her usage of controversial symbols.
Madonna won’t let it go when it comes to Lady Gaga‘s ‘Born This Way.’ Months after referring to Ma Monster’s anthem about being and loving yourself as “reductive” and similar to her own ‘Express Yourself,’ Madge engaged in a live mashup, pairing the two songs side-by-side during her MDNA tour. The gloves remain off, as she recently told a Brazilian TV show, “I’m glad I helped Gaga write it.”
Madonna‘s willful teenage daughter Lourdes, who is also her design partner in the Material Girl teen fashion line, appears to be a little monster. Turns out that Lourdes is embarrassed by her mother’s public feud with Lady Gaga, where Madge has taken to dissing Gaga in the press and on stage.
